Only just read that an old friend Kenny Moore died while on tour with Tina Turner in 1997 I wondered why I hadn’t heard of him for such a long time.

Kenny was a lovely person and radiated a warmth and generosity that is rare these days. He was a fantastic piano player and his roots were in gospel music. I worked with him in Lausanne Switzerland and again in my home studio where I had the pleasure of listening to him and Judy Cheeks sing gospel and blues for hours, we didn’t get much work done that day they just sang and sang more. I wish I’d turned the tape machine on I still kick myself.
Here are some performances with Tina…

This is also great but I believe some of his solo performance has been edited out…please watch all

While he performed three solo numbers including Play Don’t Worry and Angel No. 9, backed by John Turnbull on guitar, Geoff Appleby on bass, Blue Weaver on keyboards and Jim Toomey on drums, the slot was originally booked to promote the Hunter – Ronson collaboration about to kick of in the United States. Ronson filled in as a solo artist when Hunter found it necessary to return to the US before the scheduled appearance.

Pet Shop Boys, Me and 2 Fairlights do "The Old Grey Whistle Test" 1986

The Pet Shop Boys first live gig was at the ICA in London (can’t remember date in’80′s) starring in “The Max Headroom Show”

I programmed 2 Fairlights for the backing and myself and Chris also played keyboards it was most probably the one and only time Chris played Trombone on stage and they/we sounded great. I also did the same for them on “The Old Grey Whistle Test” Wow! don’t believe this just found it on YouTube.I was behind the bank of screens with a mixing desk sending my mix to the control room. Big panic just before the show went out live as someone tripped over one of the mains cables to the Fairlights and I had to do a panic soldering iron repair.

My Yamaha DX1 and Technics PX1 as well as my Fairlights being used also.

Also this same night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XL2CsXZgKg

Really good to hear how my simple piano part has developed.

Great quote from Lou in one book written about him (can’t remember which do you? please comment if so.)
I was quoted (I’m pretty sure I didn’t say it) as saying Lou couldn’t play after six o’clock because of taking too many drugs, anyway when Lou was asked about this he said “Blue couldn’t play before or after six and he didn’t f**king take any”. I was so nervous and in awe playing with all the guys, imagine being asked to come and have a warm up jam with a few guys, as Bob Ezrin put it when he saw me drinking my half pint at the bar in Morgan Studios, when I walked in the studio there was Jack Bruce, Aynsley Dunbar,Steve Hunter,Gene Martynec and Steve Windwood had just had to leave and they expected “me” to take over?

A piano piece I’d written before I joined the Bee Gees. One night I was playing this in the studio when Barry started singing along and before I’d finished had lyrics originally called “The Restless Years” but later changed, I wish that tile had stayed as it gets confused with “The Way We Were” especially as Gladys sang it also.
I still get a lump in my throat when I hear this and can’t believe such great singers want to sing my songs.
